we recently spoke with JENNIFER STUBBINGTON to learn how she is amplifying her voice through her brand.

My voice deserves to be heard because....

My voice deserves to be heard...because I am taking space on this Earth and ALL voices deserve to be heard. That is truly what all people want: to be heard, to be seen...even if it is just one person. In essence, my voice deserves to be heard because my whole passion is to be voice for others. I want to help be a vocal piece so people can share their story, their pain, and their triumphs in order to inspire, enlighten, and encourage the human race. I am COMPLETELY genuine and passionate about my calling: to give others a voice and to see all people live their fullest lives and be their fullest selves!

You find your voice and the value of your voice by getting to know yourself and what makes you utterly happy!

What does finding your voice mean to you?

Finding your voice in today's world can be quite a challenge: there are so many other voices other than your own telling you what you should be, what you should do, what you should look like. Social media is a powerful tool for good but it can also wreak havoc on your mind and heart by comparing yourself to others. I believe one finds their voice once they truly begin to love themselves fully and know there is no one on Earth like them. You find your voice through your life story, your pain, your triumphs...often times stumbling and utterly falling. You find your voice and the value of your voice by getting to know yourself and what makes you utterly happy!

That is how I found mine. My whole life I wanted to give meaning to others...for my life to have meaning. There were many personal struggles I went through as a child, teen, and young adult that held me from being my fullest self and ultimate calling (too long of a story to write it all here!). I did have a very successful teaching career in all low-income schools which brought me so much joy. I was influencing lives in a profound way. But I felt there was more for me.

A few years ago, I stepped away from all that was comfortable, safe, and known. I left my education career without truly knowing what the next steps were for me. I was unhappy and knew there was more for me so I stepped out on faith. By complete divine intervention and just following what made me happy and who I am--supporting people, celebrating their gifts, being genuinely interested in the stories and passions of others--I was asked to host/emcee a very influential art show that showcases artists of all genres in the city. I had never done anything more than speaking in front of elementary students at school I was about to host a huge show with over 1,500 attendants!!! That was the beginning of it all. There is much more to the story...but in short, I found my passion and voice--interviewing others and hosting/emceeing--through a leap of faith and following that inner voice that kept nudging me...and by being ME!

Did your upbringing shape who you are today?

One thing I learned from my childhood is that who you are a child is so indicative of your passion and voice as an adult. I LOVED people and was constantly in trouble for talking during class--from elementary, to high school, to college! So I was constantly comparing myself to others: why wasn't I the best athlete, or the most beautiful, or the smartest? I just talked all the time! But all along that was my calling. Once more a lesson of BE YOU and DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS.

I was also born in the U.K. and adopted as a baby. This always made me different and very thankful for all the ways my life was directed and unfolded. No detail is by accident and makes you who you are and contributes to your voice and passion!

Describe your journey? What was your defining moment?

One very defining moment was the one I already mentioned about the first show I was asked to host/emcee. I was not "known" at all and it was truly a pure miracle I was given that opportunity. Normally people who were known or had influence are asked to host/emcee because they can draw crowds. I had been asked just purely because I had been myself! And I was so terrified that first show! I remember almost saying I can't do this...I am too scared. How am I going to get up in front of over 1,500 people to host a 4 hour show when I had never even spoke at length in front of 15? I was given several signs from above to push through the fear. You MUST do what fear!!!! I did and that began a whole new career. A whole new passion. A whole new vision. A whole new world of possibilities!

Advice to someone in search of finding their voice in the entrepreneurial, influencer and creative space.

To find your voice in your field AND in your life, you MUST do what you fear. If it scares you, you must walk through it. Your destiny lies on the other side of being uncomfortable and facing your fears. I also think that one of the most important things is to really get to know yourself. What do you love about yourself? What makes you genuinely and purely happy? What do you "know that you know that you know" you have to offer the world? Building your self-confidence and worth on the value you add to the world through your passion and creativity.
